April 24th, 2010 Michigan Land Rescue Team, led by Ridgewalker, attacked the illegal dumping found in Arenac County's significant portion of the Gladwin State Forest Unit. This area was definitely in need of a team's effort and we were happy to assist.

We began the day by meeting inside the State Forest Area at 10:00 am. After some introductions and a little chit-chat, we split up into small teams and began our work in cleaning up this incredible public hunting land that scattered itself along the Rifle River. It didn't take long but we were able to clean our first area of concern in about an hour and a half and headed to the dumpster to unload. Next, we began to work on another area just north of our previous location. We spent about an hour here, loaded the trucks and back to the dumpster. With three trucks and three trailers, the dumpster filled quickly. Only 3 hours into the event and 25 yards of litter and 66 tires had been removed from the forest. It was a great effort from a few dedicated sportsmen and women in Arenac County.
